The Cornucopia is a 2500 year old symbol of food, abundance, and female fertility. This horn of plenty is found on a Roman coin but originated from Greek Methology. The story goes that the goat Amalthea who raised Zeus from her milk broke her horn in horseplay with Zeus. In a gesture of remorse, Zeus gave the horn back to Amalthea with supernatural powers of bounty. This horn has been depicted in iconic form to be overflowing in food and riches.
Today, the Cornucopia is an American symbol of the bounty provided by God upon which we give thanks.
