Mayan calender symbol for Reed. In Mayan lore, the god-king Feathered Serpent named Quetzalcoatl erected a pillar at the “Place of Reeds”.  It symbolizes the “World Tree” which represents an energy conduit between heaven and earth.  Quetzalcoatl would return to humanity and advocate the replacement of human sacrifice with flowers, songs, and meditation.

What sacrifice can you replace with flowers, song, and meditation?

This is one of twenty Mayan Solar symbols of their celestial calender.  Which one resonates with you?
