Mayan Glyph of Duality Consciousness

by mikonmark on December 22, 2009

Mayan calender symbol for Flint or Knife, Etznab (pronounced etz nob). The Mayan knife was fashioned from flint.  It symbolized the consciousness of duality – right and wrong, good and evil, faith and fear.  The spiritual warrior who, through his conscious choices of actions, chooses the ethical and moral path.  The symbolic knife can be used for healing and life enhancing purposes or destructive and killing purposes.  Awareness of duality allows each of us the opportunity to transcend pain and suffering by choosing to live in joy and gratitude.

This is one of twenty Mayan Solar symbols of their celestial calender.  Which one resonates with you?
